The app collects nothing
Sleek Mouse has no analytics, no crash reporting, no update check and no account. Its only network request goes to Dodo Payments, to activate or check your licence key: it sends the key and your Mac's name (like “Jo's MacBook Air”), so you can tell your Macs apart when you move the key. Nothing else about you or your machine leaves your Mac.
It writes exactly two things, both on your own disk:
- Your settings — chosen pack, enabled state, your own themes, your licence key — in the standard macOS preferences store.
- A copy of your original system cursor images, in Application Support, so that a crash can never leave you stuck with an emoji pointer. This file is deleted the moment your cursor is restored.
It reads the bundle identifier of whichever app is in front, in order to pick the right emoji. That value is used and discarded; it is never stored and never transmitted.
For click sounds and ripples it listens for mouse buttons and scrolling, which macOS allows without a permission prompt. It never observes the keyboard, and no click is recorded, counted or sent anywhere: each one becomes a sound or a ripple in the moment, then is gone.
