How do I change my cursor to an emoji on Mac?
macOS has no setting for it. Install Sleek Mouse, pick a pack from the menu bar, and the system arrow becomes an emoji in every app. It changes on its own as you switch apps.
Is it safe to change the cursor on Mac? Does it touch system files?
No files are modified. Sleek Mouse registers replacement images with the running window server and restores the originals when it exits. Nothing is written to your system.
What happens to my cursor if the app crashes?
The original cursor is written to disk before anything is changed. On the next launch the app notices it exited badly and restores the stock arrow before doing anything else.
Does it work on macOS Tahoe and survive macOS updates?
Yes. It runs on macOS 14 and later, including macOS 26 Tahoe. Apple renames cursors between releases, so the app discovers the arrow cursors by name at runtime and verifies each change by reading it back instead of trusting a return code.
Why isn't Sleek Mouse on the Mac App Store?
It uses private CoreGraphics APIs, which the App Store forbids. Direct download only — signed, notarized by Apple, and stapled, so there are no Gatekeeper warnings.
How do I make my Mac click sound when I click?
macOS has no setting for it. Turn on click sounds in Sleek Mouse and every mouse and trackpad click plays one: six sounds, a separate release sound, soft ticks as you scroll, and stereo so clicks come from where they happen on screen.
How do I show mouse clicks in a screen recording on Mac?
Turn on ripples in Sleek Mouse. It draws a ring under your pointer on every click, on top of everything, so QuickTime, OBS, Loom, Zoom and every other recorder capture it. Style, size, colour and a separate colour for right-clicks are yours.
Can I make the cursor bigger on Mac?
Yes. Sleek Mouse has a size slider from 24 to 64 points, and an outline so the emoji stays visible over white pages and dark terminals alike. Both help on camera.
Does it need Accessibility or Input Monitoring permission?
No. Click sounds and ripples listen for mouse buttons and scrolling, which macOS allows without a permission prompt. Sleek Mouse never sees your keyboard.
Does it work on a Mac without a notch?
Yes. On a Mac with a notch the panel wraps around it; on any other Mac or external display it is a small black pill at the top of the screen. Hover either to open it.
Can I give one app its own emoji?
Yes. Edit any theme, and under each emoji pick the apps it shows in from a list of everything installed on your Mac. Apps you do not pin get one of the theme's emoji automatically.
Is there a free trial?
